SES/ELC/TED 770: Community Engaged Research & Practice

Enrollment is now open for a new course on community engaged research in Spring 2013. The course is for PhD students who have taken at least one other research course or who are granted permission to enroll from the instructors.

Course description: An in-depth exploration of the history, theory, ethics, research methods, and reporting of community-engaged research with an emphasis on positionality and reflexivity. Research practices in community settings are required.

  • Belinda Hardin from SES and Silvia Bettez from ELC will be co-teaching the spring course
  • Students will develop individual research projects with community partners
  • This is a university designated service-learning course
